The Bharatiya Janata Party, which is playing the role of the elder brother in the triangular alliance, released the first list of candidates on Friday. 35 candidates have been announced on this list. In this, along with old veterans of Punjab BJP, Congress MLA Rana Gurjit has been given the ticket. This time the BJP has entered the election in alliance with PLC and SAD United.
BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh said that big faces of all sections have been included in the first list of the party. Since Punjab is an agricultural state, BJP has nominated 12 farmer leaders associated with agriculture. Keeping in mind that there is a large section of the Scheduled Caste community in Punjab, eight faces of the scheduled community who have done good work in the upliftment of this community as well as 13 Sikh faces have been given tickets.

BJP has given place to most of the leaders who left the Congress in the first list but has not included the name of Congress’s Kadian MLA Fatehjung Bajwa. MLA Rana Gurmeet Sodhi has been given place. Instead of his assembly constituency Gurusahai, he has been given a ticket from Ferozepur city. Apart from this, Nimisha Mehta, who left the Congress from the Garhshankar seat, has been nominated by the BJP.

BJP without Akali Dal after a long time
