Mawlynnong was entitled as Asia’s cleanest village in 2003 and it is just 90-100 kilometer drive-away from Shilong.


2. Yana


Yana is an enchanting village located in the forests of Kumta in Utttara Kannada district of Karnataka. Yana is known for its mysterious rock formations hidden away from the rest of the world. The limestone rock formation is a home to a self-manifested Shiv lingam with a figurine of goddess Parvati inside. Yana is an adventures village for hiking and trekking lovers with the beautiful nature spot.


3. Majuli


Majuli is a village located in Assam and listed in Guinness World Records for its largest river island in the world. It is situated on the bank of Brahmaputra river having gazillion museums. Majuli island is about 300-400 kilometer distanced from Guwahati and the closest airport is Jorhat Airport, also known as Rowriah Airport. The distance of Majuli from the airport is 20 KM.


4. Idukki


Idukki, is second largest district in Kerala created on 26 January 1972. Idukki is located in Westren Ghats of the state having the lowest population density. The half of the district is covered by forest. The closest airport to reach Idukki is Kochi’s Cochin International which is 97 kilometer distanced by road. After airport you can take Taxis, state buses and private vehicles to get to gorgeous village.


5. Matheran


Matheran is a hill station located in the Western Ghats Range of Rajgarh district, Maharashtra. Mysterious valleys and surrounding hills makes the view of Matheran more attractive. The coolest fact about Matheran is, no vehicles are allowed here which makes the air more fresh and sweet. The way to get to the place is very easy, you can reach Matheran from Mumbai or Pune by train or by toy train.


6. Agatti


Agatti is peaceful title village located in Lakshadweep which is surrounded by waters, boasts and colourful marine life. Agatti is spot for water sports lovers where you can do the activities such as scuba diving, glass-bottom boat tours, sailing, kayaking, snorkelling, fishing and water skiing etc. You can reach the Agatti village via airways or waterways through cruise ships.


7. Nako


Nako is beautiful village at the high-altitude of 3,625 meter located in Hangrang Valley in Himachal Pradesh. Nako is very close to the Indo-China Boarder and the most attraction of the village is its Nako Lake. Area-wise, the village is quite small but it has an ancient monastery complex, which is a cluster of four old temples and these temples are run by Buddhist lamas. The nearest airport to reach the Nako village is Kullu Airport in Bhuntar, from there you can take HP state transport bus.


8. Ziro


Ziro village is well known for its annual Ziro Music Festival. Ziro village in located in Ziro Valley in Arunachal Pradesh. This small village has been shortlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site having a distance of about 115 kilometer from AP’s Capital Itanagar. 9. Khonoma


Khonoma village located in Nagaland’s Capital Kohima. It is the first green village know for its ecologically-sensitive people and community conservation projects. The sloping terraced hills are blanketed with rice plantations. To reach the destination you can ticket for Dimapur airport which is just two hour and 40 minutes drive-away from Khonoma. You can also take a local bus from Kohima which is just 20 minutes away.
